ALTEN and Schneider Electric join forces

ALTEN and Schneider Electric join forces to accelerate the adoption of distributed automation in Industry 4.0

At the SIDO trade fair in Lyon, ALTEN and Schneider Electric presented their joint offer to help manufacturers move towards Industry 4.0.

The focus is on optimising the plant value chain, while taking energy management and sustainable development into account.

The integration of new-generation intelligent sensors enables the transition to intelligent products guaranteeing maximum availability and maximised service life.

The convergence of physical and digital systems offers unprecedented opportunities, but also raises challenges in terms of integration and efficiency. It is in this context that ALTEN and Schneider Electric have developed an innovative offering designed to facilitate the adoption of Industry 4.0 use cases. The announcement was made at the SIDO event in Lyon, a key event for the convergence of IOT, AI, XR and robotics technologies.

The partnership between ALTEN and Schneider Electric is the result of a long-standing collaboration, with the aim of supporting the transformation of the industrial landscape through advanced technological solutions. By joining forces, these two companies have developed synergies that enable them to meet the new needs of manufacturers: Operational Excellence in Lean 4.0, Maximising Equipment Performance, Exploiting Contextualised Data, IT/OT Convergence and Cybersecurity, and Energy Management & Sustainable Development.

The “distributed automation for Industry 4.0” offering is designed to accelerate the adoption of use cases linked to this industrial revolution and enable these various topics to be scaled up more quickly. “Thanks to our R&D expertise and our experts trained in Industry 4.0 technologies, we are deploying solutions tailored to current market needs. This partnership with Schneider Electric allows us to accelerate the integration and rapid deployment of these technologies in demanding industrial contexts,”

Antoine Santoni, Operations Director – ALTEN.

“With Ecostruxure Automation Expert we are accelerating in the field of distributed automation to serve Industry 4.0, which aims to increase operational efficiency using advanced technologies. This enables companies to implement solutions tailored to the specific needs of their operations, while promoting rapid integration and deployment. These advances pave the way for a significant transformation in the way companies approach production and operations management,”

Yann Bourjault, Director of Digital Transformation at Schneider Electric.

The Neo-Automate project, demonstrator of the offer

The result of a collaboration between ALTEN and its partners Schneider Electric and STMicroelectronics, this project highlights a new kind of predictive maintenance system. Thanks to on-board artificial intelligence, it is now possible to anticipate breakdowns and optimise machine maintenance, thereby reducing costs and increasing the lifespan of equipment.

Schneider Electric’s Ecostruxure Automation Expert solution plays a central role in logic control and systems management. Based on the IEC61499 standard, it provides a modular and flexible approach to the development of automated systems, facilitating application development, integration and maintenance.
