ALTEN joins the United Nations Women Empowerment Principles
ALTEN has taken a new step in its commitment to diversity and the feminisation of scientific and technical professions.
By joining the United Nations’ Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs), the Group is strengthening its efforts to promote gender equality, particularly in the workplace.
The Women’s Empowerment Principles, a joint initiative of UN Women and the UN Global Compact, support companies in promoting gender equality, in line with the 2030 Agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
“As a world leader in Engineering and IT Services, we have a long-standing commitment to the feminisation of scientific and technical professions. The signing of these Principles marks a new stage in our corporate social responsibility strategy, which aims to achieve global objectives for a mixed, equitable and sustainable society.”
Simon Azoulay, Chairman and CEO of ALTEN
Feminisation of the scientific professions:
a long-standing commitment
ALTEN is committed to promoting diversity and professional equality. In France, where only 24% of engineers are women according to the Observatoire 2023 des Femmes Ingénieures, the Group has made a concerted effort to increase female representation.
These efforts have taken several forms:
- Raising awareness to change the image of the sector among young people, particularly young women.
- Guaranteeing equal treatment throughout a professional career.
- Promoting work-life balance for all employees.
- Striving for a balanced representation of women and men in the workforce, with a score of 89/100 on the gender equality index in 2023.
- Encouraging women’s access to management positions through upward mobility.
