Final assembly line: transition to Industry 4.0
A major aircraft manufacturer wants to deploy a digital dashboard to interface with the different lines of business in order to optimise the scheduling of all the activities on a final assembly line (FAL). By combining several expert skills in manufacturing and BI (Business Intelligence), ALTEN accompanied the client’s production teams in preparing data and provided support in defining the specifications of this digital tool.

The production monitoring tool provides industrial data in real time. Its digitalisation helps to effectively coordinate any remaining tasks and, thus, accelerate the closing of aircraft zones and systems in accordance with the pace of manufacturing.
More than 25 ALTEN engineers are mobilised at different sites in France and Germany in order to:
- ensure the coherence of industrial data: analysis of assembly plans, instruction sheets and Nonconformity studies.
- provide specification support for the BI platform
- improve the data supplied and the BI tool rules.
Following an initial successful result for the manufacturing of a long-haul aircraft, the client has again placed its trust in ALTEN in order to extend the digital platform to an aircraft’s final assembly line with a production rate of more than 50 per month.
